Insights into a Magician’s Mind.

Learning from Mistakes

Posted on March 6, 2017

I walked off stage after performing and thought to myself, “I was so bad.” To put this into context, let’s back up 15 minutes, before my act began… I usually put my phone away before I perform, but I am bored. My set is starting late, since the performer before me began late. I’m sitting on a chair on stage, waiting for the call to open the curtain and begin my set. I’m scrolling through my Facebook feed and emails, trying to occupy my time while I wait for my turn to shine on stage. I’m not thinking about my act at

What is My Role?

Posted on February 22, 2017

“A magician is an actor playing the part of a magician,” claims Jean Eugene Robert-Houdin, the father of modern conjuring. While I agree with this theory in many respects, I’ve always struggled to find my role on stage. Am I an artist? An entertainer? A magician?  I believe my first job is to entertain. To reveal a sense of wonder and bring happiness to others. But I struggle so often to bring about art in my shows. I want to push others much like a musician would. Lyrics and melodies move people, but does magic as well? I believe

Always Read the Airplane Magazines

Posted on February 7, 2017

I usually tend to read airplane magazines. You know, those free ones in the back seat pockets. I think it’s a mixture of the the sudoku, travel pictures and random articles that attract me to them. I read a quote in one of those magazines a couple of years ago that changed the way I view show business. It’s from illustrious magician and performer, Penn Jillette. His words struck me so strongly that I ripped the page out and keep it folded in my desk to reference from time to time:

2016 – Year in Review

Posted on January 3, 2017

Phew. 2016 is finally over. While this year was nowhere near perfect, I loved every opportunity that my magic career brought in 2016. I feel extremely lucky to wake up every day and work to bring happiness to others. Below are just a few highlights of 2016: 1. Performed magic at corporate events nationwide. I moved to Chicago in August, and I now perform at corporate and private events nationwide. The craziness of the holiday season is always a highlight of my year. I was recently hired to perform magic at two separate corporate holiday parties, one in Washington,

I’m Thankful for Mornings

Posted on November 21, 2016

I am thankful for every morning. Because I have the incredible opportunity as a magician to wake up each day and do what I love; work to bring happiness to others through magic. I vanish borrowed diamond rings, magically multiply money and cause inanimate objects to come to life. I have opportunities to perform at standard functions-like a corporate holiday party-or those more unique-such as a Passover Seder. My briefcase is a deck of cards and my office is the closest coffee shop. I’m incredibly lucky to wake up every morning, anxious to work on this magical world of mine that I’ve created. It is my

I’ve been interested in magic for the past fourteen years, and my drive for performing has always remained the same. I love the smiles on people’s faces and the opportunity to bring happiness to others through magic. I’ve had individuals come up to me after a show, saying they had awful days and I was able to cheer them up. And benefit and volunteer shows, where I make no money, can many times be my most rewarding experiences. They allow me to throw the business part of my job aside and just enjoy the

Hey all, 2015 was an incredible year filled with travel, new adventures and continuous opportunities to bring happiness to others through magic. I’m extremely excited for everything that 2016 has in store, including my New Year’s resolution to explore more of Washington, D.C. I filmed a short magic video recently in California to inspire both you and me to keep our New Year’s resolutions alive in 2016. Watch the video below and forward it to a friend along with your New Year’s resolution! I hope this New Year brings you

Thank You and Happy New Year!

Friends,   Thank you for your support this past year. I’m extremely proud of my accomplishments in 2014, and they could not have been done without the help of you and others. All of you have supported me in a variety of ways, whether you sat in the audience at a show or follow me online.    This year has been filled with a number of events that brought me joy as a magician. I launched my first theater show and performed magic live on television. I finished my nearly
